The Coon Rapids Lions Club is a local community service
organization with a current membership of 50 dedicated
volunteers and is part of the International Association
of Lions Club with a worldwide membership of 1.41 million
members. We the Lions enjoy working to better the lives
and well-being of all people in our community. Through
education and research for Lions programs in sight, hearing,
diabetes and drug awareness.
Our mission is to serve the needs of our community through
a wide range of volunteer projects.
These projects are held throughout the year, and include;
Pancake Breakfasts for Youth, Highway Cleanup, the Coon
Rapids 4th of July Parade and Carnival, Spaghetti Dinners
for Youth, Hooked on Fishing, Books for "Bango",
Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army, 55 Alive, Park River
Men's Group, Lions Coon Creek Park, Diabetes - Walk-A-Thon
and many others.
The Coon Rapids Lions Club is a member of sub-district
5M-7, which is one of thirteen sub-districts of Multiple
District 5M (MD5M) which includes all of Minnnesota, Manitoba
and Northwestern Ontario. District 5M-7 consists of all
the clubs in Wright, Sherburne, Anoka, Isanti, Chisago
and a portion of Washington counties. It contains approximately
1980 Lions in 52 Clubs - and around 450 Lioness members
in 19 Lioneess clubs. |
