The Coon Rapids Lions Club is a local community service
organization whose members are part of the International Association
of Lions Clubs, with a worldwide membership of 1.35 million
members in over 45,000 clubs located in over 200 countries or
geographical regions. We, the Lions, enjoy working to better
the lives and well-being of all people in our community through
the education and research programs the Lions sponsor for sight,
hearing, diabetes and drug awareness.
Our mission is to serve the needs of our community through a
wide range of volunteer projects. These projects are held throughout
the year and include: Pancake Breakfasts for Youth; the Coon
Rapids 4th of July Parade, Carnival and Fireworks Display; Spaghetti
Dinners for Youth; Hooked on Fishing; Books for "Bango"; Bell
Ringing for the Salvation Army; White Cane Days; 55 Alive; Park
River Men's Group; Lions Coon Creek Park; Carp Fest; Diabetes
- Walk-A-Thon and many others.
The Coon Rapids Lions Club is a member of sub-district 5M-7,
which is one of thirteen sub-districts of Multiple District
5M (MD5M) that includes all of Minnesota, Manitoba and Northwestern
Ontario. District 5M-7 consists of all the clubs located in
Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Sherburne, Wright and a portion of Washington
counties. District 5M7 contains over 2000 Lions and Lioness
in 56 Lions Clubs and 15 Lioness Clubs.
